Saltcoats Man Sentenced for Multiple Bail Breach Offences
A Saltcoats man has been sentenced after repeatedly breaching his bail conditions
Saltcoats, Scotland, William Murdoch, Bail Breach, Alcohol Treatment
He didn’t show up at home during curfew hours on a couple of occasions in late October and again in November. The police were trying to reach him because he wasn’t at his bail address.
Finally, they got him on the phone, and he claimed he was on a bus heading home. But, of course, they found him later, and he was charged.
His lawyer mentioned that Murdoch would be open to getting some help for his alcohol issues. The sheriff, Laura Mundell, thought that an alcohol treatment requirement could be a good way to support him.
In the end, Murdoch was given 12 months of supervision and has to stick to the alcohol treatment program during that time. He’ll need to attend any sessions he’s told to go to.
