Saline: The Saline and District Heritage Society has made a generous donation. They gave books written by two of their members to OnFife Archives.
Barry Doyle donated his book, ‘Bandrum Now and Then’. He gathered stories from former staff and residents.
Bandrum House has a fascinating history. It started as a farm in the 17th century. Over the years, it served many purposes, including a home for writer Annie S Swan.
Tina Chapman also contributed her new book, ‘Blairingone Roll of Honour 1914-1918’. This book follows her earlier work on World War I.
Local studies officers Sara Kelly and Sharron McColl thanked the society for the books. They will be kept in the Carnegie Library and Galleries’ Reading Room.
Some copies will go to other local libraries and archives, too. The society plans to create more pamphlets and books for local history research.
They also host monthly talks in autumn and winter. In 2025, they will hold a summer event celebrating the 150th anniversary of Saline School.
