Agadir: So, there was this wild situation with a Ryanair flight that was supposed to head to Birmingham. Passengers checked in around 7 PM, but the flight kept getting delayed. They ended up spending the night on the cold, hard floor of the airport. Can you imagine?
People were really frustrated. They felt totally abandoned at Agadir–Al Massira Airport. The flight was supposed to leave at 9:40 PM, but it just kept getting pushed back. No one offered them a place to stay, so they had to make do with the empty airport.
Updates about the flight were all over the place. First, it was supposed to leave at 12:40 AM, then 2:10 AM, and so on. Finally, they took off at 11:36 AM the next day, landing in Birmingham way later than planned.
One passenger shared how chaotic it was. They felt like they were in a movie scene, just waiting for any scrap of information. Most of the airport staff had gone home, leaving them in the lurch.
At one point, a passenger even asked if they could leave for a hotel, but it seemed like that wasn’t an option. They got an email at 5 AM saying they could rebook for free or ask for a refund, but that was it.
People were hungry too. Some got a tiny voucher for four Euros, but that didn’t even cover a meal. It was a mess trying to get food, with long lines and confusion everywhere.
Another passenger mentioned how disorganized it was when they finally got to eat. It was just chaos, with no order to how they were serving food. It was frustrating for everyone involved.
Ryanair said the delays were due to bad weather at Birmingham Airport, which had been hit by snow. They claimed they sent out a bunch of updates to passengers, but it didn’t seem like it helped much.
In the end, the airline apologized for the inconvenience, saying it was all out of their control. But for those stuck on the airport floor, it was a night they won’t forget anytime soon.
