Rs 40 lakh gold looted from Vasai jeweller; police launch investigation

Vasai: So, there was this crazy incident at Mayank Jewellers the other night. Two guys on a motorbike just stormed in and stole gold worth a whopping ₹40 lakh! Can you believe it?

The shop owner, Ratanlalji Sanghvi, was just about to close up when these armed robbers showed up. One had a helmet on, and the other was wearing a mask. They pulled a gun on him, which is just terrifying.

When Ratanlalji tried to fight back, they hit him on the head with the gun. Ouch! They then opened the safe and grabbed a bunch of jewellery boxes filled with gold.

Now, the police are all over this. They’ve got six teams working on it and are checking out the CCTV footage to find these guys. DCP Pournima Shringi-Chougule said they’re confident they’ll catch them soon.

Ratanlalji is recovering in the hospital, and thankfully, his condition is stable. His son, Manish, wasn’t there that night, so it was just Ratanlalji handling the shop. His other son, Abhilesh, mentioned they’re working with the police and hoping for a quick resolution. What a nightmare for them!
