Exeter: Rootstock, the top agricultural conference in the South West, is making its return on February 6 at Westpoint Arena. This event focuses on sustainable farming and future resilience.
After two sold-out years, this one-day conference is set to feature a fantastic lineup of experts. You’ll hear from Minette Batters, former Chief Executive of the NFU, and Dr. Jennifer Rowntree, an Associate Professor in Ecological Genetics. Plus, there’s Chris Berry, who manages over 450 acres in Devon, and Nikki Yoxall, a first-generation farmer from NE Scotland.
Now in its third year, Rootstock is backed by universities like Exeter and Plymouth, along with Rothamsted Research. It’s a great chance for farmers, scientists, and researchers to come together and discuss the latest trends in farming.
Sir Harry Studholme, one of the event organizers, shared that UK agriculture faces serious challenges. Climate change and market fluctuations make planning tough. He believes Rootstock will offer farmers reliable solutions and expert advice.
Last year, around 320 people attended, and many found it inspiring and a great networking opportunity. Tickets are now on sale, with discounts for DCAA members and early bird bookings. Standard tickets are priced at £40, and you can find more info at www.rootstock.ag.
