Roob’s Random Observations on A.J. Brown’s Impressive Stats
A.J. Brown’s performance this season defies expectations, showcasing his talent despite fewer opportunities on the field

Philadelphia: So, let’s talk about A.J. Brown and how he’s been killing it this season. You might hear folks saying he’s having a rough year, but that couldn’t be more wrong. He’s actually doing amazing things with way fewer targets than before. Seriously, his targets are down by 26% compared to the last two years, yet he’s still among the top players in the league for yards per game and yards per catch. It’s wild!
He used to get about 8.9 targets a game, but now it’s dropped to 6.6. The Eagles are running the ball more, and sometimes Jalen Hurts hesitates to throw to him. But guess what? A.J. is still racking up an average of 84 yards per game, which is impressive considering he missed a few games earlier this year. He’s on track for over 1,170 yards, which is just crazy!
And let’s not forget about his catch percentage. He’s sitting at 73%, which is pretty solid. If he had more targets, who knows how much more damage he could do? It’s exciting to think about!
Now, some people are comparing him to Terrell Owens, and honestly, that’s a bad comparison. Sure, both are incredible wide receivers, but A.J. is all about the team. T.O. was known for causing drama, while A.J. just wants to win. He’s a great teammate and a leader, and that’s what makes him stand out.
Speaking of drama, it’s kind of funny that T.O. and Donovan McNabb are still arguing about stuff that happened 20 years ago. Like, come on, let it go!
Switching gears, I keep hearing people say Russell Wilson isn’t a Hall of Famer, and that’s just silly. The guy has had an amazing career, making the playoffs eight times and winning a Super Bowl. He’s definitely earned his spot.
And how about Jahan Dotson? He’s had a rough stretch, going nine games with one or fewer catches. That’s a tough record to hold!
On the other hand, Saquon Barkley is having a fantastic season. He’s upped his rushing average from 4.3 to 4.7 yards per carry, which is impressive. If he gets just a few more yards, he’ll join an elite group of running backs who’ve rushed for 1,700 yards in their seventh season or later. That’s no small feat!
Looking at the Eagles’ defense, it’s interesting to note that they had a ton of defensive backs last year, but only two are still playing significant snaps this year. It’s a big change!
If the Eagles finish with the top defense again, it’ll be the fourth year in a row that a former Eagles coach or player has led the league. That’s pretty cool!
And I can’t help but reminisce about that epic Eagles-Steelers game from 2000. What a nail-biter! The Eagles pulled off an incredible comeback, and it’s one of those games that sticks with you.
Lastly, the Eagles are averaging just under 181 passing yards both gained and allowed. That’s a rare stat in the NFL!
Oh, and can we talk about Jordan Mailata? He’s been playing at an elite level, and even though he missed some games, he deserves a Pro Bowl nod. He’s been a standout on the offensive line, and it’s about time people recognize that!
