Coventry is set for a busy week of roadworks affecting various routes and timings

Coventry: With everyone getting back into their routines after the holidays, traffic is picking up again. So, it’s good to know what roadworks are happening this week.

The city has a bunch of roadworks going on. We’re talking footway reconstructions, cycleway installations, and even some HS2 works. These can pop up on dual carriageways, local roads, or even the M6 and M42 motorways.

Here’s a quick rundown of the roadworks you should be aware of:

  • Oldfield Road (from no.106 to Maudsley Road) – closed from 7.30am to 4pm until January 24 for footway work.
  • Wellesbourne Road (Alderminster Road junction to no.32) – closed from 7.30am to 4pm until January 17 for footway work.
  • Brownshill Green Road (Radford Road to Scotts Lane) – closed from 7.30am to 4pm until January 17 for pavement work.
  • Harper Road (opposite number 32 to number 56) – closed from 7:30am to 4pm until February 7 for footway and kerbing work.
  • The Barley Lea – closed from 7:30am to 4pm until February 7 for footway work.
  • Stivichall and Cheylesmore Bypass – closed from 8pm to 6am until January 22 for resurfacing.
  • Whitley Interchange – closed from 8pm to 6am until January 22 for resurfacing on the bypass.
  • Kenilworth Road – two-way lights from 7:30am to 4pm until January 17 for a new pedestrian crossing.
  • London Road North (from Asda Island to Abbey Road) – lane and footway closures from 7.30am to 4pm until October 17, 2025 for cycleway work.
  • Swan Lane – closed from 6pm to 6am until January 17 for patching work.
  • Foleshill Road – closed from 8am to 4pm until January 19 for patching work.
  • Station Avenue (from no.10 to junction with Tile Hill Lane) – closed from 9.30am to 3.30pm until January 22 for patching work.
  • Bennetts Road – three-way lights until February 14 for patching work.
