Road to Torquay Beach Remains Closed Due to Water Main Burst
A water main burst has left Ilsham Road in Torquay closed, with repairs ongoing and expected to finish by midweek

Torquay: So, there’s been a bit of a mess on Ilsham Road lately. A water main burst last week, and it really flooded the area. It was quite a sight, with water gushing everywhere.
South West Water’s team jumped in to fix the issue right away. They managed to repair the burst, but the road is still closed while they work on getting everything back to normal.
They’ve dug up part of the road, and it looks like a construction zone. But don’t worry, they’re on it! They expect to have the road open again by the middle of this week.
Some folks nearby said the road was completely blocked, especially near Meadfoot beach. It must have been quite the hassle for drivers trying to get through.
There were even some properties that lost water for a bit, but they brought in a tanker to help those affected. Thankfully, the flooding has calmed down now, but the road still needs some TLC.
