Liverpool: So, Rio Ferdinand is feeling pretty confident about Liverpool this season. He thinks they’re in a great spot to snag the Premier League title. And he’s got his eyes on Mohamed Salah for some big individual awards too.

The Reds are really on a roll, leading the Premier League by eight points as we head into 2025. Arsenal might try to close that gap, but Liverpool still has a game in hand, which is a nice cushion.

Plus, they’re looking good in the Champions League and have a Carabao Cup semi-final against Tottenham coming up. It’s shaping up to be a promising first season for Arne Slot, and he could end up with some silverware.

Ferdinand, who used to play for Manchester United, is going against his old teammate Gary Neville by backing Liverpool for the title. He shared his thoughts on TNT Sports, which is pretty interesting.

However, he’s not so sure about Liverpool in Europe, predicting that Real Madrid will keep their Champions League title, even though they’ve had a rough patch this season.

As for Salah, Ferdinand thinks he’s got a solid shot at the Ballon d’Or. Salah’s been on fire, racking up 20 goals and 17 assists in just 26 games. That’s impressive!

But here’s the twist: Ferdinand doesn’t think Salah will win the Premier League’s player of the season. He’s backing Chelsea’s Cole Palmer instead. And he’s also predicting Erling Haaland will be the league’s top scorer, even though Salah is ahead of him right now.

Interestingly, Slot didn’t get a nod for manager of the season either. Ferdinand is backing Nuno Espirito Santo from Nottingham Forest if they can keep up their good form.

It’s a bit of a head-scratcher how Salah could be in the running for the Ballon d’Or but not for the Premier League’s player of the season. You’d think those would go hand in hand, right?
