The Warriors considered a trade for Cam Johnson but would have needed to part with Jonathan Kuminga, raising questions about their future plans.

San Francisco: So, it looks like the Warriors were eyeing a trade for Cam Johnson from the Nets. But here’s the kicker—they would have had to give up Jonathan Kuminga. That’s a big deal!
According to NBA insiders, if Golden State wanted both Johnson and Dennis Schröder, Kuminga was pretty much a must-have in the deal. The Nets were shopping around for a few players, and the Warriors were definitely interested.
But it seems like the Warriors aren’t ready to let go of Kuminga just yet. He’s still figuring out his place on the team in his fourth year. The kid has shown flashes of what he can do, especially as a second scorer next to Steph Curry.
Even though Kuminga hasn’t been super consistent, the Warriors are holding out hope that he can step up. They think it makes sense to give him more time to develop before making any big moves.
For now, the Warriors are banking on their new addition, Schröder, and hoping Kuminga continues to grow. They really want to solve some of their ongoing issues this season.
