Sacramento: So, it looks like De’Aaron Fox’s time with the Kings might be getting a bit shaky. His agent, Rich Paul, had a sit-down with the Kings’ GM and assistant GM recently to chat about what’s next for him.

Even though Fox hasn’t officially asked for a trade, other teams are definitely keeping an eye on the situation. The Spurs seem particularly interested in him, especially with their new star, Victor Wembanyama, in the mix.

Fox is originally from Houston, so a move could be a homecoming of sorts. If it looks like a trade is on the horizon, you can bet other teams will jump into the mix too.

He’s been with the Kings since he was drafted in 2017, and he’s made it clear he loves Sacramento and its fans. But he’s also all about winning. In a recent podcast, he talked about wanting to see the team improve and compete at a high level.

Fox mentioned that he wants to be part of a winning organization, and while he loves the city, he’s got to think about his career too. The Kings have struggled this season, sitting at No. 12 in the Western Conference, which might be making him reconsider his future.

He even turned down a big contract extension offer from the Kings, wanting to see how the season plays out first. If things don’t improve, the Kings might have to think about trading him before he walks away for nothing in a couple of years.

With the trade deadline coming up on February 6, 2025, it’ll be interesting to see how this all unfolds.
