San Francisco: So, it looks like Robert Saleh is heading back to the 49ers. He’s taking on the role of defensive coordinator again after his time with the Jets didn’t go as planned.
He had a few interviews lined up with teams like the Cowboys and Jaguars, but it seems like he’s decided to skip out on those. He even canceled a flight to Jacksonville for a second interview. Talk about a quick change of plans!
Saleh had a rough run with the Jets, getting fired just five games into his fourth season. His record there was 20-36, which isn’t great. But before that, he made quite a name for himself with the 49ers, turning their defense into one of the best in the league.
Now, the 49ers are bringing him back, and they’re reportedly making him the highest-paid defensive coordinator in the league. It’s a big move for both Saleh and the team, and who knows? If things go well, he might get another shot at being a head coach down the line.
