Dallas: So, it looks like Kyrie Irving is going to be out for a bit. He’s got a bulging disk in his back, and it’s going to keep him off the court for at least one to two weeks. Bummer, right?

He’s joining his teammate Luka Dončić on the sidelines. Luka’s been out with a calf strain since that Christmas game against the Timberwolves. No word yet on when he’ll be back either.

This is tough for the Mavericks, especially since they’ve been struggling lately. They’ve lost five out of their last six games since Luka got hurt. They started the season strong at 19-10, but now they’re sitting at 20-15.

Things aren’t looking up either. The Mavericks have a tough schedule coming up, with five out of their next seven games against other playoff contenders. They’ll be facing teams like the Grizzlies, Lakers, and Nuggets.

And just to add to the pressure, they’ve got a three-game stretch from January 22-25 that includes the Timberwolves and a rematch with the Celtics. It’s possible they could be without both Kyrie and Luka for those games. Yikes!
