Bali: The five remaining members of the Bali Nine are finally back in Australia. They’ve been away for a long time, serving over 19 years in Indonesian prisons for drug-related crimes.

Matthew Norman, Scott Rush, Martin Stephens, Si Yi Chen, and Michael Czugaj landed back home, and it’s a big deal. The Australian government confirmed their return on Sunday.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese expressed gratitude to Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto for his compassion in facilitating their return. It’s nice to see some cooperation between the two countries.

In a joint statement, Albanese, along with Foreign Minister Penny Wong and Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke, thanked Indonesia for its support. They emphasized the strong relationship between Australia and Indonesia.

The Australian government has been there for these men, providing support to them and their families throughout their time away. Now, they can focus on rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

As they settle back in, the government is asking everyone to respect their privacy. It’s a sensitive time for them and their families, and they deserve some space.
