Record-Breaking Pressure Set to Hit Ontario and Quebec This Weekend
A powerful high-pressure system is expected to bring cold weather and clear skies to Ontario and Quebec this weekend, possibly breaking records.

Montreal: A strong high-pressure system is settling over Eastern Canada. This means we can expect some nice weather and chilly temperatures this weekend.
It’s pretty impressive because this system might break a record that’s been standing for over forty years! It’s set to peak on Saturday, and the pressure could even hit over 1050 hectopascals.
What’s cool about this high-pressure area is that it can keep clouds away, giving us clear skies. But, on the flip side, it can also trap pollutants, which might lead to some smog in the cities.
Historically, the pressure records for Quebec and Ontario have been around 1046 to 1049 hectopascals. The last time Montreal saw such high pressure was back in February 1981.
So, if you’re in the area, enjoy the clear skies but keep an eye on the air quality!
