Recognising Mumbai’s Real Heroes Through Their Inspiring Stories
The Free Press Journal honors Mumbai’s unsung heroes for their impactful work

During their discussions, the jury looked at how impactful each nominee was, their innovative approaches, and how well they engaged with the community. Ziaa Lalkaka from HT Parekh Foundation praised the platform provided by The Free Press Journal for giving these heroes the recognition they deserve.
The jury included notable figures like Neera Nundy from Dasra and Amitabh Jaipuria from Accelerate Indian Philanthropy. After a thorough selection process, they announced 10 winners and five special mentions. Anjali Raina noted how professional and transparent the process was.
Darshana Shah shared that the experience was humbling. She was impressed by the dedication of these unsung heroes. Their hard work is truly making Mumbai a better place. For five years now, The Free Press Journal has celebrated Mumbaikars who are committed to public service. This year, the series showcased 38 initiatives across various fields, including environment and gender issues, and even shared stories on their YouTube channel.
