Edinburgh: The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) has shared some sad news. One of the lynx that was recently captured has died overnight. They’re not sure yet what caused it, but a postmortem will be done to find out more.

Dr. Helen Senn, who heads conservation at RZSS, expressed her sadness over the situation. She mentioned that capturing these animals safely was a big effort, and it’s heartbreaking to lose one. The stress of being in a new and tough environment must have been a lot for the lynx to handle.

The good news is that the surviving lynx will be taken to Edinburgh for quarantine. This will be alongside two other lynx that were captured just a couple of days ago. Dr. Senn also thanked the local community for their incredible support during this challenging time. It’s nice to see everyone come together for these animals.
