High Wycombe: A new McDonald’s is set to open on February 19 at 11 am. It will take over the old Pizza Hut location, which closed at the end of 2024.
This McDonald’s will be located at the retail park on Ryemead Way. Other McDonald’s in town are on High Street, Crest Road, Holmers Farm Way, and Dovecot Road.
Some locals are unhappy about another McDonald’s opening. They feel the area could use a different type of restaurant.
On Facebook, Andrea Keckesova suggested a nice Italian or Greek place instead. Mary Scott expressed sadness over the number of McDonald’s in town.
Nancy Debell-Hall prefers a sit-down Mediterranean restaurant over fast food. She noted that many people enjoy McDonald’s for its affordability.
Chris Payne thinks five McDonald’s is too many, while Colin Lacey plans to avoid the new one. Despite this, some residents are excited about the opening.
Mark Ashby pointed out that McDonald’s is always busy, suggesting it can’t be that bad. Mark Starkey joked about needing one next to B&Q to complete the set.
Basharat Rehman believes the new restaurant will create job opportunities. RJames Lando mentioned that restaurants should cater to those who want them.
The grand opening is expected to draw a large crowd. Alan Butchers, a franchiser, said they are excited to invest in High Wycombe and create up to 60 jobs.
