Baltimore: The Ravens had a big day on Saturday. They clinched the AFC North title again, and Lamar Jackson kept his MVP hopes alive. But the real highlight? It was all about Michael Pierce.

This guy, weighing in at 355 pounds, pulled off something incredible. During a game against the Browns, he faked a rush and then dropped back into coverage. Out of nowhere, he intercepted a pass from quarterback Bailey Zappe.

Instead of running it back, he slid down to secure the turnover. And then, bam! The whole Ravens team rushed to celebrate with him. Even the coaches were in shock, especially offensive coordinator Todd Monken.

You don’t usually see a nose tackle making plays like that. They’re usually stuck in the middle of the line, not out there snagging interceptions. But Pierce showed he can do it all.

According to Jonas Shaffer from the Baltimore Banner, he’s the heaviest player to get an interception in the NFL since 2000. After the game, Ravens coach John Harbaugh praised him, calling it “the most crazy, amazing play in NFL history.”

Pierce has been around for a while now. He started with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent from Samford and has always been a key player on defense. He left for the Vikings in 2020 but came back to Baltimore in 2022.

Nose tackles don’t usually get the glory, and Pierce has only 9.5 career sacks. But he proved that big guys can make big plays too.
