Houston: The Ravens really put on a show against the Texans, didn’t they? They jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead and just kept rolling, finishing with a 31-2 win. This victory puts them at 11-5 for the season, and they’re looking to clinch the AFC North title with a win against the Browns next week.
Lamar Jackson was the star of the game, as usual. He ran for 87 yards, breaking Michael Vick’s record to become the NFL’s all-time rushing leader for quarterbacks. He even had a 48-yard touchdown run! Plus, he completed 10 of 15 passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns. Not too shabby!
With 3,955 passing yards and 852 rushing yards this season, Jackson is making a strong case for MVP. If he has another big game next week, it’ll be interesting to see how the voters decide between him and Josh Allen.
The Ravens also got a solid 148 rushing yards from Derrick Henry, sticking to their successful game plan. This win marks their third straight blowout since the bye week, and they seem to be hitting their stride just in time for the playoffs.
On the flip side, the Texans had a rough day. Quarterback C.J. Stroud struggled, missing open receivers, throwing an interception, and getting sacked five times. They had a chance to score in the second quarter but couldn’t convert on fourth down from the Ravens’ 5-yard line. After that, they just couldn’t get anything going.
Injuries might explain some of their struggles, but the offensive issues have been a recurring theme for Houston. If they don’t figure things out soon, their postseason stay could be a short one.
