Baltimore: The Ravens had a stellar game on Saturday, racking up 299 rushing yards against the Steelers. They were just one yard shy of hitting the big 300 mark when Lamar Jackson took a knee at the end. It’s the most rushing yards in a playoff game in 12 years!
The last time a team topped that was back in January 2013, when the 49ers ran for 323 yards against the Packers. Ravens coach John Harbaugh mentioned that their dad always stressed the importance of a strong running game, and it clearly paid off.
“My dad’s proud. Jack Harbaugh’s proud right now. He likes to pound the rock. That’s what we did,” Harbaugh said, reflecting on the family legacy.
Derrick Henry led the charge with 186 yards, while Lamar added 81. Harbaugh noted that the coaching staff is always brainstorming ways to set their players up for success.
“We don’t have a specific system. We’re just the Ravens system. We focus on what works best for our guys,” he explained.
Running the ball and stopping the run has always been a priority for the Ravens. “That’s football,” he said. “That’s as old as football. I think it’s the Ravens way.”
