49ers Offensive Line Faces Another Blow as McKivitz Misses Practice

The 49ers’ offensive line struggles deepen as Colton McKivitz misses practice, raising concerns for their upcoming game against the Lions

Santa Clara: The 49ers are really feeling the heat with their offensive line. Colton McKivitz, the right tackle, missed practice due to a knee injury. This is just another setback for a team already struggling with injuries.

With McKivitz out, the 49ers are in a tough spot for their game against the Lions. They’ve already lost key players like Trent Williams and Jaylon Moore to injured reserve. It’s a real mess.

Spencer Burford, who was supposed to step in, also missed practice with a calf issue. And left guard Aaron Banks is out too. It’s like a domino effect, and the team is running out of options.

They’ve had to sign new offensive linemen just to fill the gaps. Charlie Heck and Matt Hennessy are now on the active roster, but it’s unclear how they’ll line up against the Lions.

If Burford can’t play, rookie Austen Pleasants might get his first start. Nick Zakelj, another rookie, could also be in the mix after stepping in last week. It’s a lot of pressure on these young guys.

Only Jake Brendel and Dominick Puni were the starting linemen at practice. If McKivitz can’t go, Heck might have to step up. He’s got some experience, but it’s still a gamble.

With four offensive linemen on injured reserve, the 49ers are in a tight spot. They need to figure things out fast if they want to compete against the Lions.
