Memphis: So, the other night, things got pretty wild for the Raptors’ coach, Darko Rajaković. He totally lost it during a game against the Grizzlies.
With the Raptors trailing 125-103, he went off on the refs after a no-call. It was intense! His players had to step in and pull him away. He got hit with two technicals and was tossed out.
The crowd at FedExForum was loving it, especially since Rajaković used to be an assistant coach for the Grizzlies. They were probably thinking, “Wow, this guy is really fired up!”
After the ejection, the Raptors didn’t get any help from those extra free throws, which Luke Kennard made. They ended up losing 155-126, and now their record is a rough 7-24.
Raptors assistant coach Pat Delany commented on the situation, saying they hold each other to a high standard. He couldn’t really say what was going through Rajaković’s mind, but it was clear he was trying to protect the players.
This was Rajaković’s first ejection as a head coach, but he’s had his moments before. Earlier this year, he got fined $25,000 for going off on the refs after another tough loss.
