Rapist’s Attack Captured on Victim’s Phone Leads to 15-Year Sentence

Crewe: A rapist is now behind bars after his horrific attack was caught on his victim’s phone. Nzar Salah stalked her for hours before he struck.
It all happened last summer when the victim was just walking around. Salah, 28, approached her and started following her, harassing her for quite some time before the attack took place.
At Chester Crown Court, it came out that the victim had a gut feeling about him. So, she turned on an audio recorder on her phone, just in case something went wrong.
When the police got involved, they found the entire attack recorded. That audio was key evidence that helped convict Salah. After a 14-day trial, he was found guilty of three counts of rape.
Now, he’s facing 15 years in prison. Detective Superintendent Helena Banusic praised the victim for her bravery and hopes this outcome gives her some peace after such a traumatic experience.
She also mentioned how awful it was for the victim to relive the attack during the trial. The main goal was to get justice for her and keep the community safe from someone like Salah.
Since Salah is originally from Iraq, they’ll start the process to deport him once he’s done serving his time. It’s a tough situation, but at least there’s some justice now.
