Rape boss is still in UK…is there better example of political incompetence?

Rochdale: It’s pretty shocking to think about how Qari Abdul Rauf, the ringleader of a grooming gang, is still in the UK after serving his time. This guy has played every card he could to avoid being sent back to Pakistan.

He was supposed to be deported ten years ago, but he fought back with legal battles and appeals. And guess what? He’s still here, delivering takeaways in Rochdale, possibly running into his victims.

Rauf even renounced his Pakistani citizenship, making him “stateless.” That’s a clever move on his part, as it complicates any attempts to send him back. He’s also used the European Convention on Human Rights to argue for his right to a family life.

It’s hard not to feel frustrated. Our politicians seem completely outmatched by human rights lawyers, and it raises serious questions about their competence.

And let’s not forget the broader implications. The UK is still bound by rules from Strasbourg, which makes it feel like we’re not in control of our own justice system. It’s a tough pill to swallow, especially for the victims and their families.
