Benidorm: Jimmy Dott collapsed while on vacation with his wife, Sarah. Doctors diagnosed him with sepsis and possible spinal damage.

His family in Shettleston started a crowdfunding campaign. They needed over £30,000 to bring him home for urgent care.

After we shared his story, the community rallied together. They raised nearly £12,000 to help Jimmy return home.

His granddaughter, Sarah Glass, expressed gratitude for the support. She said they were overwhelmed by everyone’s kindness.

Jimmy was safely repatriated over the weekend. He is now receiving treatment in a Glasgow hospital.

Sarah mentioned that he is getting stronger every day, thanks to the NHS.

Jimmy is a father of five, with 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is well-loved at The Bristol Bar in Duke Street.

Donations poured in after we reported on the family’s situation.
