Los Angeles: So, the Rams are taking it easy this week. Coach Sean McVay just announced that some big names won’t be playing against the Seahawks. Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp are among those sitting out.
Since the Rams have already secured a playoff spot, McVay decided to rest quarterback Matthew Stafford, running back Kyren Williams, and a couple of offensive linemen too. It’s all about keeping them fresh for the playoffs.
In their place, Joe Noteboom will step in at left tackle, and Jonah Jackson will take over at right guard. Warren McClendon Jr. is also expected to start at right tackle since Rob Havenstein is still nursing a shoulder injury.
Jimmy Garoppolo will be the starting quarterback, and rookie Blake Corum is set to fill in for Williams. McVay mentioned that running back Cody Schrader will also get some chances to shine.
As for the receivers, Tutu Atwell, Jordan Whittington, and Tyler Johnson will take over for Kupp and Nacua. The Rams’ defense will still play, but they’ll have limited roles to keep them fresh.
McVay believes it’s a good chance for the younger guys to get some experience without overloading the starters. It’s all about balancing the team’s needs as they head into the playoffs.
