Dunfermline: A Raith Rovers fan, Kieren Ross, was brutally attacked by a group of thugs. He recently shared a really emotional victim impact statement that hit hard.
Two young men, Mackenzie King and Callum Beautyman, were found guilty for their roles in the attack. It all went down at East End Park last January, and it was a pretty shocking incident.
King, who had been in the Army, got 240 hours of community service. Beautyman, on the other hand, received an eight-month curfew with an electronic tag. It’s a tough lesson for them.
In court, Kieren’s statement revealed just how scared he was. He mentioned that he thought the gang wanted to kill him, and that fear still haunts him. He’s been dealing with nightmares and panic attacks ever since.
Even though his physical injuries have healed, Kieren feels the mental scars will stick around forever. He said he doesn’t think he’ll ever be the carefree kid he used to be.
The sheriff didn’t hold back, telling King and Beautyman they should be ashamed of what they did to another human being, especially someone with disabilities.
After the attack, Raith Rovers reached out to Kieren, inviting him to Stark’s Park to meet the players. They even gave him a signed shirt and some gear from the players. It was a nice gesture to show support.
Both clubs condemned the attack and promised to help the police find those responsible. They’re working together to make sure Kieren gets the support he needs.
It’s a tough situation, but it’s good to see the clubs stepping up and showing they care about their fans.
