Las Vegas: Maxx Crosby was having a solid season, but things took a turn for the worse. The Raiders are really feeling the heat right now.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Crosby is set to have ankle surgery that might end his season. He’s already been ruled out for the upcoming game against the Atlanta Falcons.
The surgery is happening soon, and it’ll help doctors figure out if he needs more work done on that ankle. It’s been bothering him since Week 2 against the Ravens, and it sounds like it might be worse than they thought.
If Crosby is done for the year, it’s a tough break for a team that’s already struggling. The Raiders are sitting at 2-11, but Crosby has been a bright spot, leading the league in tackles for loss and racking up impressive stats.
With the playoffs out of reach, there’s really no point in rushing him back. The team is also eyeing the top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, so they might want to play it safe.
There’s been chatter about Crosby’s future with the Raiders, especially with the trade deadline just passed. He’s under contract for two more years, and if the Raiders decide to rebuild, he could bring in some valuable draft picks.
But Raiders owner Mark Davis has made it clear: “We’re Not Trading Maxx Crosby,” he said in an email to ESPN. “Before Or After The Trade Deadline!!!”
Still, that probably won’t stop the rumors from swirling as the offseason approaches.
