Los Angeles: Quebec is stepping up to help out with the wildfires that are wreaking havoc in California. They just sent two more water bombers to join the fight.

Now, there are four water bombers in total, along with a dozen pilots and six technicians from Quebec. It’s a big deal, especially since the situation is pretty dire.

Pascal Duclos, the head pilot, shared that it’s a real tragedy out there. Sadly, 25 people have lost their lives, and countless homes have been destroyed.

During a news conference, he mentioned that the dry weather and strong winds could spark even more fires. Thankfully, one of their planes that had a little mishap with a drone is back in action.

Luc Dugas, an engineer from Quebec’s fire prevention agency, said they’re ready to send 60 more firefighters if California needs them. It’s all about helping each other out.

He pointed out that California firefighters came to Quebec’s aid during the record wildfires we faced in 2023. It’s nice to see that kind of support going both ways.
