Purdy Injures Elbow in 49ers’ Loss, Facing Nerve Issues
Brock Purdy’s injury raises concerns for the 49ers after their loss to the Lions, with potential implications for his future.

He left the game late in the fourth quarter, and Coach Kyle Shanahan mentioned it might be “nerve stuff” in his right elbow. That’s not great news. They’re planning to do more tests to figure out what’s going on.
Purdy’s elbow has a history, too. He had surgery last year after tearing his UCL in the NFC Championship Game. After the game, he said his elbow “didn’t feel the best,” but initial tests for UCL damage came back negative.
Despite the injury, Purdy had a solid performance, completing 27 of 35 passes for 377 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. Shanahan had previously said he wouldn’t bench Purdy, even with the team out of playoff contention.
Now, though, it looks like Purdy’s season might be over just as he’s about to negotiate a big contract extension. What a rollercoaster for him!
