Runcorn: So, there was this truck driver who got pulled over on the A55 after folks noticed he was driving all over the place. They called the police, and it turns out he tested positive for cocaine right there at the roadside. Pretty wild, right?

This all went down yesterday when the Roads Crime Unit was busy making six drug-related arrests in just a few hours. The driver, a 57-year-old from Runcorn, was stopped after people reported his dodgy driving on the A470. An officer quickly got to the scene and pulled him over.

After the arrest, he was released but still under investigation while they wait for more test results. There was also a 26-year-old from Widnes who got nabbed in Bangor for being disqualified and tested positive for both cannabis and cocaine. Talk about a bad day!

Then there was another guy, 45, from Kinmel Bay, who also got arrested for drug driving after testing positive for cocaine. He had some serious issues with his vehicle too—two front tyres were worn down to the cords, no valid MOT, and he wasn’t even wearing a seatbelt. Yikes!

Chief Inspector Caroline Mullen-Hurst from North Wales Police thanked the public for their quick action. She mentioned that those calls could have saved lives. It’s a big deal because driving under the influence can lead to tragic accidents that affect families forever.

She went on to explain how drugs can mess with your ability to drive safely, causing slower reactions and poor concentration. It’s just not worth the risk. The police are out there 24/7, making sure the roads are safe for everyone.

If you ever see someone driving under the influence, don’t hesitate to reach out to the police. They want to keep our roads safe, and every little bit helps!
