Proud Stratford Parents Celebrate Arrival of Baby Millie on New Year’s Day
Stratford couple welcomes baby Millie, the first born at Warwick Hospital in 2025, bringing joy to their family.

Stratford: The new year kicked off in a big way for a young couple when they welcomed their first child, Millie. She’s also the first baby born at Warwick Hospital this year.
Millie Arabella Harman arrived at 4:46 AM on January 1st, weighing in at 7 pounds 7 ounces. Proud parents Emily and Alex Harman, both 31, are over the moon.
Emily shared with the Herald that Millie was due on New Year’s Eve. She went into labor that evening. They were driving to the hospital when the clock struck midnight, and they saw fireworks. Alex enjoyed the moment a bit more since Emily was focused on her contractions!
They reached the hospital at 12:15 AM, and Millie was born just five hours later. Emily said it was a relatively quick process, with some gas and air to help her through the tough parts.
Emily moved to Stratford in 2018 to be with Alex, who grew up nearby in Alcester. They have plenty of family support in the area, which has been a huge help during this busy time.
Right now, both parents are on leave to care for baby Millie. Alex, who works at the University of Warwick Business School, has a couple of weeks off, while Emily is enjoying a full year of maternity leave from her job at an investment bank.
Emily mentioned that teamwork is key for them. Their dog, Jasper, a sprocker, is also keeping them active with walks, which they appreciate. As Alex jokes, Jasper is their firstborn!
Reflecting on Millie being the first baby of the year, Emily said they were thrilled. They didn’t think it would happen since they expected another baby would arrive before 4 AM.
Seeing Millie’s photo shared by the hospital on social media and receiving congratulations from everyone has been exciting. She’s already brought so much joy and positivity to their lives and their family.
