Mumbai: It’s a tough day for many as Pritish Nandy has passed away at his home in Mumbai. Anupam Kher broke the news on social media, and it hit hard. Pritish was not just a journalist; he was a poet, painter, and even a former parliamentarian. He suffered a cardiac arrest at his residence, and sadly, his funeral took place later that evening.

Anupam Kher shared his grief online, expressing how deeply saddened he was. He called Pritish one of his closest friends and praised him as an amazing poet and filmmaker. Kher mentioned how Pritish was a huge support for him when he first arrived in Mumbai. Their bond was special, and he’ll always cherish those memories.

Kher reminisced about the times they spent together, saying Pritish was larger than life and fearless. He recalled how Pritish once surprised him by featuring him on the cover of Filmfare, which was a big deal. Their friendship was something he valued deeply, and he’ll miss those moments.

Pritish Nandy was also a member of the Rajya Sabha, representing Maharashtra. He was part of the united Shiv Sena back in the day. Beyond politics, he was a well-known media personality, an animal rights advocate, and a filmmaker who created content for TV and streaming platforms.

He had a remarkable literary career, writing around 40 poetry books in English and translating works from Bengali, Urdu, and Punjabi. He even crafted a new English version of the Isha Upanishad. His contributions to literature and media will surely be remembered.
