Woolwich: On January 6, police were called to Prince Imperial Road around 4:20 PM after reports of a stabbing. An 18-year-old male was found injured at the scene.
Emergency responders, including the London Ambulance and Air Ambulance, rushed to help. The air ambulance is usually called for serious cases, so it was a big deal.
The area is just a short walk from Shooters Hill Sixth Form. The teen received treatment on-site before being taken to the hospital. His injuries are serious and could be life-threatening.
Police cordoned off the area, blocking access from Red Lion Lane. The scene stretched across a green space and onto the sidewalks, making it hard for locals to get around.
It’s unclear when the police will clear the scene, but there are still signs of the emergency response, like medical kits left behind.
Shooters Hill Sixth Form was closed for the day due to the incident. They posted a message online, asking everyone to check their emails for updates.
The school informed parents that students should work remotely. Those with exams were told to come in as usual.
The victim was a Year 12 student at the college. The headteacher, Geoff Osborne, confirmed the stabbing and said the police are still investigating.
He mentioned that the school is providing support for anyone affected by the incident and asked for privacy for the victim’s family.
As of now, no arrests have been made. The community is shaken, with many describing the situation as “terrifying.”
One local parent expressed concern for their children, while another resident noted that such incidents are becoming too common.
Abdou, a long-time community member, said he wasn’t surprised by the stabbing, given the chaos around schools during drop-off and pick-up times.
