Woorim: So, there’s this wildlife rescuer named Diane Oxenford who was out on the beach, right? She’s part of this group called the Bribie Island Turtle Trackers, and they usually look for turtle nests. But this time, she stumbled upon something totally unexpected.

While riding her electric bike along the beach, she spotted a snake stranded in the sand. Instead of the usual turtle tracks, she found a highly venomous elegant sea snake. Yikes! Diane mentioned that these snakes are super deadly, so they try to avoid messing with them.

The poor snake was stuck in an area where 4WD vehicles often zoom by. Diane explained that sea snakes are usually good swimmers, but sometimes they get stranded. It could be because they’re sick or just caught in the soft sand after basking in the sun.

After finding the snake, Diane and her colleague quickly called a local snake catcher. They wanted to get the snake to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital for a health check before releasing it back into the ocean. It’s a real concern because they’ve seen other snakes get run over by cars on the beach, which is just heartbreaking.

So, that’s the scoop! It’s a reminder to keep an eye out for wildlife while enjoying the beach. You never know what you might find!
