Ottawa: So, it looks like Saturday is going to be a bit of a mess. Freezing rain is rolling into eastern Ontario and southern Quebec, and it’s not going to be pretty.

The rain is expected to start early in the morning, especially in northeastern Ontario. It’ll then make its way toward Ottawa, Gatineau, and Montreal by early afternoon.

They’ve already issued freezing rain warnings, so if you’re planning to hit the road, keep an eye on those conditions. Roads could get really slippery, so it’s best to check the highway updates before you head out.

This low-pressure system is moving in from the Great Lakes, bringing some moisture with it. And since temperatures are below freezing, that rain is going to freeze as soon as it hits anything.

So, if you’re driving or even just walking around, be super careful. The freezing rain and drizzle will start early Saturday morning and stick around for a while.

As the day goes on, the ice will keep building up, making things even trickier. While we probably won’t see major power outages, a few millimeters of ice can still make roads and sidewalks really slippery.

If you have to go out, just take it slow and watch your step. It’s going to be a day to stay alert!
