Portage Police Seek Help to Find Suspect in Dunkin Donuts Shooting
Portage Police are looking for Devin T. Rodriguez, charged with firing a weapon outside a Dunkin Donuts earlier this month
Portage, Indiana, Dunkin Donuts, Shooting, Devin T. Rodriguez
Rodriguez, who’s just 19, was charged with two felony counts of criminal recklessness. The police say he pulled a gun during a heated argument with two brothers who were at the Dunkin Donuts.
It happened on December 16 around 5 p.m. The brothers walked into the store, and things got tense when the older brother confronted Rodriguez, who was working there. They didn’t even know him, but thought he was staring them down.
After a bit of back and forth, Rodriguez went to the back of the store. But once the brothers got their order and left, he came out and confronted them again. That’s when things escalated. Rodriguez pulled out a handgun and fired several shots at their car, hitting it a couple of times.
Everyone took off from the scene. The brothers called the police once they got home and are helping with the investigation. Now, there’s a warrant out for Rodriguez’s arrest, and he could face even more charges soon.
If anyone knows where he is, they should reach out to Detective David Czilli at the Portage Police Department.
