Swansea: It’s a bit of a bummer, but the Coopers Arms has shut down again. This pub was a beloved spot in Plasmarl, known for being a real community hub.

Last September, the previous owners decided to close it up. But then, a regular named Richard Hammett stepped in to take over. He kept it going for about 15 months, which is pretty impressive.

Sadly, Richard had to close the pub again because it was sold. The new owners didn’t want to keep the lease going. It’s a tough break for everyone who loved hanging out there.

They even threw a farewell party on New Year’s Eve, bringing all the regulars together for one last night of fun. It was a great way to say goodbye, with lots of singing and dancing.

Richard and the team thanked everyone for their support over the past year and a bit. It’s always hard to see a local favorite go, but the memories will stick around.
