Greenock: Police conducted a major vehicle check operation. They stopped 158 cars in one day. This was part of a road safety initiative.
The checks happened at the East Hamilton Street and Douglas Rae Road junction. Officers found some issues during the checks. They issued two prohibition orders for vehicle defects.
Fifteen warnings were given for lighting defects. Two drivers were reported for road traffic offences. The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency helped with the checks.
