Police Conduct Recent Arrests in Watford Following Multiple Incidents

Watford police have made several arrests recently, tackling theft and other offenses in the area. Here’s a quick rundown of what happened.

Watford: On January 18, the police nabbed two suspects after a theft at the Co-Op in York Way, Garston. Victoria Evans, 40, and Richard Powell, 39, were caught red-handed taking items without paying.

Both hail from Fairfolds in Meriden and faced charges for shoplifting. Evans also got hit with an extra charge for assaulting an emergency worker. They both pleaded guilty at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on January 20 and were ordered to pay £140 each in fines and compensation.

That same day, Paul Sallows was arrested in The Parade for breaching a town center ban. The 34-year-old, who has no fixed address, was fined £100 and ordered to pay £40 in compensation after appearing in court two days later.

Additionally, a man was charged for messing with cars in Albert Road early last Monday. George Mitchell, 27, was caught trying door handles and later appeared at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court. He’s been bailed and will return to St Albans Magistrates’ Court on February 14.
