Melbourne: Police are on the lookout for a group of alleged neo-Nazis who displayed an anti-Semitic banner on the steps of Victoria’s parliament. They did this for a photo op, which is just outrageous.
About 20 guys, all dressed in black and wearing masks, showed up late Friday with three big signs, one of which was aimed at Jewish people. Can you believe that?
Acting Superintendent Kelly Walker mentioned that these men had a photographer with them and took off when the police arrived. They clearly knew they were up to no good.
She said the sign was meant to stir up trouble in the community. It’s just sad to see this kind of hate popping up.
Police have managed to identify one of the men, and they’re working hard to track down the other 19. They could face charges for their offensive behavior.
Walker described their actions as “terrible and disgusting,” and it’s clear the public is really upset about it.
Two security officers at the parliament raised the alarm and tried to keep the angry crowd away from the alleged neo-Nazis. It sounds like a tense situation.

In a show of support, Premier Jacinta Allan tweeted that Victoria stands with the Jewish community, emphasizing that they are an integral part of the state.
She also made it clear that the real freedom haters are the ones spreading hate, and they won’t be tolerated.
Both Allan and Opposition Leader John Pesutto condemned the actions of these men. Allan pointed out that this is exactly why her government is pushing for tougher anti-vilification laws.
She wants to make it impossible for Nazis to operate in Victoria, not just by banning their symbols but by making their hate speech a crime.
Pesutto echoed her sentiments, calling their actions a threat to the community. He noted that such incidents are becoming disturbingly common in Victoria.
