Malpas: So, there was this really scary incident where a dog walker got hurt in a hit-and-run. It happened early Monday morning when a car veered off the road and crashed into a garden, trapping the woman and her dog underneath. Yikes!
Luckily, she’s in stable condition now after being taken to the hospital. A local guy named Saul Evans heard the crash while getting ready for work. He said it was loud and there was screaming, which must have been terrifying.
Saul rushed to help, and two nurses from a nearby care home jumped in too. They all stayed with the woman and her dog until the emergency services arrived. Talk about community spirit!
Now, Crimestoppers is stepping in, offering a reward of up to £1,000 for any info about a guy named Ian Probert, who they think might be connected to the incident. They really want to find him.
The police are saying this guy is wanted for causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Apparently, he just took off after the crash, which is so wrong. The car involved was a silver Volkswagen Passat, and it seems the people inside left before the police got there.
Gwent Police are still looking into it and are asking anyone with info, like CCTV or dashcam footage, to reach out. They want to get to the bottom of this and make sure it doesn’t happen again.
