Cwmbran: So, here’s the scoop. Police are on the hunt for a guy who pulled off a car-jacking and tried to break into a few homes early Friday morning. It all went down in the Henllys area, and Gwent Police are really keen to chat with anyone who might have seen something.
They’ve got some doorbell footage of a person they want to identify. Between 4:10 and 4:30 AM, there were attempts to break into five different homes on Pant Yr Heol Close and Laburnam Drive. Then, around 4:40 AM, a robbery happened on Henllys Way, leaving a man with some injuries.
The victim was driving a red Nissan Qashqai when he stopped at some road cones. That’s when the suspect threatened him and took off with his car. Luckily, the car was found abandoned not too far away on Perthy Close.
The poor guy only got a minor hand injury, but it’s still pretty scary. The police described the suspect as a white man, about 5’11”, slim, and in his late twenties to early thirties. He was wearing a dark puffer jacket and had a mask covering his face.
Interestingly, the description matches the guy they think is behind the attempted burglaries too. The police are still working on it but haven’t figured out who he is yet.
