Bolton: The situation is looking better now. Emergency services have been working hard after the heavy rain caused some serious flooding. Thankfully, Bolton is no longer seen as a major concern.

Police and fire services have teamed up to tackle the aftermath. Earlier, they reported that places like Didsbury and Wigan were hit hard, but things are improving.

As the weather calms down, Bolton and parts of North Manchester are back on track. There were some flooding issues in Westhoughton and Ramsbottom, but they’re managing it.

They’ve got teams out in key spots across Greater Manchester, working alongside local councils and rescue services to help the community. It’s a real team effort.

Some areas are still being watched closely, like Trafford and South Manchester, but the risk is lowering. About 400 homes near the River Mersey are okay for now, with no need for mass evacuations.

Plans are in place to move around 500 people from a hotel as a precaution. In Stockport, they’re evacuating some residents from a block of flats just to be safe.

Trafford is also on alert due to a potential issue with an aqueduct, while Wigan is dealing with localized flooding too. They’ve set up refuge centers for those in need.

Chief Superintendent Colette Rose reassured everyone that they’re keeping a close eye on the situation. She thanked the public for their cooperation and reminded folks to stay updated through local channels.

If you’re affected by flooding, you can reach out to Floodline or your local authority for help. And remember, in emergencies, always call 999 first.
