Talywain: So, there was this wild illegal rave that happened on New Year’s Eve at an old industrial site. It got pretty crazy with over 300 people showing up. Can you believe it? The place is called The British, and it’s been abandoned for ages.
People living nearby were not happy about the noise and called the cops. By the time the police showed up on January 1, the party was still going strong. They had to shut it down, cut the power, and tell everyone to leave.
They arrested a 32-year-old woman from Bournemouth during the chaos. She’s been released but is still under investigation. Apparently, she was suspected of damaging a vehicle and having some MDMA on her.
Superintendent Stephen Drayton mentioned that they’re looking into the whole event and want to stop anything like this from happening again. They’re asking anyone with info to reach out to them.
One local guy, Philip Parfitt, who lives at The British, said he had no clue about the rave until it was already happening. He noted that while the fence got damaged for entry, the partygoers were actually pretty respectful and cleaned up after themselves.
