Covent Garden: So, there’s been a pretty shocking incident in Covent Garden. Detectives just put out a new CCTV image of a guy they’re looking for. He’s wanted for randomly attacking two men.

One of the victims, a man in his 70s, got seriously hurt. An off-duty cop was also punched in the back of the head near the Royal Opera House. Both attacks happened really close together, around 10:30 PM on October 12.

The officer wasn’t hurt, but then this suspect went after a pensioner on King Street. He started by asking for directions, then just pushed the poor guy over. The elderly man ended up with a bleed on his brain and even lost consciousness for a bit.

He needed 15 stitches but is out of the hospital now, though he’s still feeling the effects. It’s wild because these two victims didn’t know each other, and it seems like the attacks were totally random.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a medium build, and he was wearing a black jacket. Last anyone saw him, he was running towards Bedford Street.

Police are really hoping someone might recognize him from the new CCTV image they released. They’re asking anyone with info to step forward. Detective Constable Greg Atkins mentioned that this all went down on a busy night in Covent Garden.

He’s urging anyone who saw anything or knows anything to get in touch. If you have any info, you can call the police at 101 and mention the reference number, or you can reach out to Crimestoppers anonymously.
