London: So, there’s been a bit of a scare at Parliament. A woman, who works as a researcher there, said someone spiked her drink in one of the bars.

This happened right after MPs got back from their Christmas break, according to reports. She noticed something was off and quickly told the bar staff and security about it.

The incident took place in the Stranger’s Bar around 6:30 PM on January 7. A spokesperson for Parliament confirmed they’re looking into it and that the police are involved.

They’re taking this very seriously, which is good to hear. The Metropolitan Police said they’ve received reports about the spiking and are currently investigating.

They also mentioned that the victim is getting support from officers, but no arrests have been made yet. If anyone else has experienced something similar, they’re encouraged to reach out to the police.

Interestingly, a group of Labour MPs is pushing for tighter rules on alcohol sales in Parliament. They want to modernize things a bit.

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper is also on it, promising to tackle spiking as part of a broader effort to combat violence against women and girls. Last year, she called spiking a serious crime that can really hurt victims.
