A 62-year-old man was stabbed in a Peckham shop in an unprovoked attack, prompting police to search for the suspect described as a stocky man in his 40s.

Peckham: Last Thursday night, a 62-year-old man was stabbed in a shop during what police are calling an unprovoked attack. Officers rushed to Rye Lane around 10:27 PM and found the man with serious injuries to his neck and thigh.

Initially, his injuries were life-threatening, but thankfully, he has since been released from the hospital. Now, the police are on the lookout for the suspect, described as a black man in his 40s, about 5 feet 4 inches tall, with a stocky build and a short beard.

He was last seen wearing a black jacket with some kind of print on it. Detective Constable Jacob Ludlam is urging anyone who was in the area that night to think back and report anything suspicious.
