Lancashire: So, there’s this adorable two-year-old police dog named Lissy who just decided she wasn’t feeling the whole work thing anymore. She’s been retired because she was showing signs of avoiding her job, which was all about sniffing out firearms and cash.

Lissy had only been with the Lancashire Constabulary since September, but she hung up her harness earlier this month. Most police dogs usually retire when they hit around seven to ten years old, so she’s a bit early to the retirement party.

Even though she didn’t stick around long, Lissy did have a notable moment. She helped catch two drug dealers in Burnley, which is pretty impressive for a pup who was just getting started.

Now, a Springer spaniel named Oakley is stepping up to take her place. He’s busy working hard to earn his license and fill those big paws.

A spokesperson for the police said Lissy was just not happy with her job anymore, so they decided to let her retire to a loving home. They even said, “Be happy, Lissy.”

On social media, folks were totally relating to Lissy’s vibe. One person joked about how they could understand her work-avoidance, saying she just wants to be a pampered princess now. Who wouldn’t want that, right?

Another chimed in, saying it’s not too different from their own situation at the garden center, but their partner won’t let them retire just yet. Everyone’s wishing Lissy a great time in her downtime!
